The deal with party car

So, yesterday two of us got tickets for eating cookies on the BART. Why did this happen? Because we don't have numbers like we used to. If there are enough of us, the cops won't do anything. It's too much of a hassle for them to bring 30 people down to the station. If there's only 12 of us, they single out a few people to harrass (and it's usually women because male cops think they're easier to intimidate. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what I have witnessed.)
Without a large group of people, partycar does not work. The cops win. If we have masses, we win.
If you are truly down for social change in the no-fun zone and would like to do some planning, tribe message me directly with your email and/or phone number and lets make it happen.
I'm ready to run with this but if there's not enough interest, there's just not.
So come forth and be counted if you're in.
Also, it is suggested that anyone who has video or film equipment bring it and tape/film the cops the whole time. Documentation really puts authority in it's place.

tribe needs a "splinter group" or "schism" button so that people in this instance can just say "who's with me? new tribe!"

    cookies = breaking the law
partying = not breaking the law!!

    cookiecar!

      marc-
partying IS breaking the law. being loud is breaking the law. misbehaving (whatever that means) is breaking the law. partying in public spaces that are not "designated fun zones" is breaking the law, even if you don't use drugs and alcohol.
partycar does have political implications, and i believe you know this. it's not about waving a sign or preaching. these politics are just about the right to BE and express one's self and the right to gather freely.
i'm sorry if you feel like i am taking "your thing," but it kind of seems like you want someone to take it. you planted a neat idea, and a few of us have really connected with it, while you yourself seem to have other equally valid projects going on.
if you want me/us to take this discussion/action elsewhere, say so, and i/we will leave.
if partycar is yours, then you can have it, but my understanding was that partycar was for acting freely in public spaces, and the partycar tribe group was for public discussion and planning. am i mistaken?

        tribe is not my thing!
communities are no one person's thing!
party car is nobody's thing, except all of us in the tribe!

        i like party car.
it's not mine. i am not sure where you got that idea from, that partycar is "my thing" - i'm just a name on a tribe page, a party is a group of people, a community- interactions between people.
it can't be yours, can't be mine, so check that community-ownership at the door.

your understanding is just that, yours- other people have different understandings, right?
are any of these understandings more or less valid?

my theory: do what you want to do, try not to hurt people or infringe upon their creativity.
if you decided that only clowns could come to party car, that would be infringing upon the mimes or whatever.

i get pretty turned off if the organizers of an event say "This is what's planned, this is what's allowed"- i feel less inclined to contribute my aesthetic to that event, why not go off and contribute to a more permeable event..

I agree it's not as much fun without a critical mass of people. My suggestion for cranking up the numbers: Turn party car into a monthly thing. Doing it weekly kind of dilutes the potential. I know I'm not interested in doing it every week, but I would be interested in doing it regularly if it was less often. Just my 2 pesos.

I think Eddie has a good idea. It gives people more time to get excited and anticipatory. More time to gather decorations and costumes. And I think we'd get more people.
      It's all about the masses.
I kind of think it's a good idea for any real, concrete planning should be done off of tribe and in a more secure environment, though. Just my preference.
