I had heard that BART was beefing up its patrols....but yesterday at 5, I was an SF bound train at MacArthur, and the two BART cops that waddled by were so weighed down by their firepower, people were laughing at them. They practically were carrying cannons - it was hard to imagine how those bazookas could be used without killing everyone in the BART car. No joke!

Fri, October 22, 2004 - 8:45 AMBeing BART cops, I'd say they were a mix of the two: first they blow your head off (while your back is turned), then they reward themselves with a stop at Krispy Kremes before filling out any "weapons discharge" paperwork.
